Description
39 Ashley Road is a house built around 1820, located in the Montpelier area of Bristol. It is constructed of brick with limestone dressings and features a Bath stone ashlar bay. The house has a double-depth plan and is designed in the late Georgian style, standing three storeys tall with a basement and comprising one bay.
Access to the house is via steps and a ramped rail leading to a right-hand doorway, which is adorned with long, fluted consoles, a broken pediment, and a six-panel door. The front includes a two-storey bow with three casement windows and a small wrought-iron balcony on the first floor. The second storey features coupled six-over-six pane sash windows set within a rendered, blind round arch. The building is topped with a cornice and parapet. The interior has not been inspected, but the design is noted as original and distinctive.
