Description

A terrace of three houses, originally four, located on Ashley Road in Bristol. The houses date to 1816, with alterations made in 1818. They are constructed of brick with limestone dressings, and the centre is rendered. The building follows a double-depth plan and rises three storeys, originally with a four-window range, but with No. 53 now having only two windows. Doorways are located to the left of No. 51, the right of No. 53, and the right of No. 55, each featuring broken pediments on small brackets, round-arched openings with plain fans, and six-panel doors. The houses have a cornice and parapet, with windows featuring flat ashlar arches, cills, and 8/8-pane sashes. The interior remains uninspected. No. 51 is believed to be the narrowest house in Bristol, and the plots were designed in 1812 by James Foster.
