Description
York Cottage is a house dated 1822, located on York Road in Montpelier, Bristol. It features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings and has a double-depth plan in the late Georgian style. The building stands three storeys tall with a basement and has a two-window range. Notable architectural details include pilasters and a second-floor plat band, with the second floor being a later addition above the band. The right-hand side has a semicircular-arched doorcase with a key and impost to a flat architrave, along with a blocked fanlight. The windows are plate-glass sashes with margin bars, and there is a semicircular-arched stair window to the right of the door. A central plaque on the front is inscribed with "YORK COTTAGE 1822." The interior has not been inspected. The property also features spear-headed railings with urn newels at the front area basement.
