Description
52 and 54 York Road are a pair of attached houses built around 1830. They are constructed of brick with limestone dressings, featuring brick stacks and a pantile mansard roof. The houses have a double-depth plan and consist of three storeys, a basement, and an attic, each with a one-window range. Architectural details include pilaster strips, a cornice, and a parapet. The doorways are open pedimented and include a fanlight above a six-panel door. The windows feature seven stepped voussoirs leading to 8/8-pane sashes, and there is a semicircular-arched stair window. The basement is illuminated by a pavement grille. The garden front is also brick, with pilaster strips leading to a cornice and parapet, and cambered heads above seven stepped voussoirs to 6/6-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
