Description
INGLETON COLD COTES SD 77 SW 10/4 Brackenbury Farmhouse 20.2.58 GV II Farmhouse. Dated 1696 in 2 builds with C19 and C20 alterations. Rendered rubble, painted stone dressings, stone slate roof. Gable end to street. Entrance front: 2 storeys, 5 bays. Central entrance in C19 gabled porch, moulded surround and decorated lintel inscribed CEI 1696. Left-hand ground floor former 2-light double chamfered window with mullion missing, and formerly 4 light double chamfered mullioned window with only central mullion remaining; 6 pane sashes, continuous hoodmould. To right of entrance is straight joint in facade. Large 2-light window with hoodmould probably marks position of former entrance, right-hand round arched chamfered window with 15 pane fixed light. Inserted early C20 entrance has early C20 door and slate hood. Upper floor: former 2-light chamfered window, mullion now missing and sill lowered, round arched chamfered window, former 2-light chamfered window, mullion now missing, wide 2-light window partly reusing a chamfered surround, and former 2-light chamfered window, mullion now missing; C20 casements and sashes without glazing bars. Left of centre stack and right-hand stack at former gable. Left-hand return to street contains one former 2 light chamfered window with mullions missing per storey. Interior not accessible.
