Description
Wildman's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with 19th-century alterations and origins that trace back to the late 17th century. It is constructed of slobbered squared rubble with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building features a central staircase plan and is two storeys high with a double fronted design. The central entrance has a moulded surround and a plank door. On the ground floor, there are two flanking windows, each with four lights, flat faced mullions, and moulded surrounds. The outer two upper floor windows are similar but have three lights and chamfered surrounds, with sashes that lack glazing bars and feature two-pane fixed lights. There is a central blocked single light on the upper floor. The gable end has ridge stacks, with the left stack projecting. The rear of the farmhouse includes two recessed flat faced mullioned windows and two former two-light chamfered windows, although the mullions are now missing. Inside, there is a mid-17th century keyed segmental arched fireplace with a cornice, as well as closed string dog-leg stairs with turned balusters.
