Description

Gibson's Hotel is a large block of around 1830, built with painted stucco and featuring four storeys and a basement. The building has moulded sill courses, with the central ground floor rusticated. A parapet coping tops the facade, which has an eleven-window front. Two windows are set into projections on either side of the main block. The windows are recessed sash windows, some retaining original glazing bars, and are set within moulded architraves featuring keyblocks. A central porch, now glazed, is supported by four modified Corinthian columns and has corner piers and an entablature with a dentil cornice. Victorian area railings are present. Gibson's Hotel is part of a group of listed buildings located on the east side of North Marine Road, running from numbers 31 to 115 (odd).
