83 And 85, North Marine Road

A pair of tall, three-storey houses with an attic and basement, dating from around 1820 to 1830, and now combined into a single residence. The houses are constructed of red brick with grey brick headers. They feature a stone sill course to the first floor, a moulded wooden frieze, cornice, and a later mansard roof to the attic. There are five windows to the upper floors, with recessed sash windows featuring glazing bars and flat stucco arches. An enclosed, glazed porch with a frieze cornice and blocking course provides the entrance, a flight of steps leading up to it; this faces the entrance to Trafalgar Square.

The listed buildings on the east side of North Marine Road, from numbers 31 to 115 (odd numbers), including Gibson's Hotel, are grouped together for their group value.
