Description
These are two cottages, numbered 2 and 3 Peasholm Cottages, dating to around 1800. They are likely to incorporate elements of an earlier building. Number 2 is two storeys, constructed with painted brick on the upper level and stone rubble at ground floor level. It has a low-pitched slate roof and three irregularly placed windows; one first-floor window features a paired sash with intact glazing bars, while the ground-floor windows are glazing bar sashes. There are two flush-panelled doors. Number 3 is a lower building, also of two storeys, with painted brickwork and stone rubble footings. It has a slate roof and two symmetrical windows with recessed sashes and Yorkshire casements on the first floor, all retaining their glazing bars. The front door has been renewed. The cottages were originally part of the larger Peasholm House, located on Peasholm Road. They form a group with Peasholm House.
