Description
Nos 69 and 71 on North Marine Road were designed as a pair around 1820-1830. They are three storeys high with an attic and basement, built of red brick, and feature a mansard slate roof with a wooden moulded frieze and cornice. The front is symmetrical with four windows that have recessed sashes and flat stucco arches, and the glazing bars are intact. There are paired entrances with four-panel doors and rectangular fanlights, located under a double central porch supported by three Greek Doric columns and pilasters against the wall, topped with an entablature and a projecting cornice. A flight of steps leads up to the doors, with railings returned along the areas. All the listed buildings on the east side, from Nos 31 to 115 (odd), including Gibson's Hotel, form a group.
