Description
Nos 86 and 88 on Brown Street are a mid-19th century pair of buildings. They are two storeys tall and constructed of red brick, which may be a recasing of an earlier structure. The buildings feature a steeply pitched gable end slate roof with ridge tiles and two tall gabled dormers. On the first floor, there are four windows, with the outer ones being narrower, and two windows on the ground floor. The windows are sashes with later glazing and are set within slightly cambered stucco arches that have keystones. At either end of the front, there are doors with four flush panels, each topped with a rectangular fanlight and framed by pilaster doorcases that include a frieze and cornice above. Nos 82 to 102 (even) form a group with these buildings.
