Description
The Star Public House is located on Brown Street at the corner with Trinity Street. This building dates back to the mid-16th century and has undergone significant alterations. It stands two storeys high and is now rough cast, likely over a timber frame. The building features a steeply pitched hipped roof covered with old tiles and has a moulded brick eaves cornice. The corner of the building is splayed on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two modern casement windows, while the ground floor has two modern mullioned windows alongside a central door. The front facing Trinity Street is similar but lacks the facsimile shell hood. Inside, the rear half of the original roof remains, showcasing trusses and collars. The Star Public House, along with Nos 67 and 69, forms a group.
