Description
The Queens Arms Public House, located at No. 9 Ivy Street, is a building that dates back to the early 18th century, although it has undergone alterations in the early 19th century. The structure is two storeys high and is faced with stucco. It features a low pitch hipped slate roof. On the first floor, there are two 4-pane sash windows flanking a 3-pane sash window, with the glazing bars altered. The ground floor has three windows, with a door positioned to the right of the centre. The entrance consists of double 2-panelled doors that are flanked by plain pilasters with moulded bases. These support heavy, plain, cut brackets with a cornice that is broken around them. The entrance is topped with an arched, concave, shell hood.
Adjacent to it, No. 7 is a building from the 17th or 18th century, also two storeys tall, with a stucco facade and a tile-hung gable end facing the road. It has a steep old tile roof and features a two-light casement window on the first floor, along with a modern glazed shop window and door. The building has a trussed roof structure.
