Description

This is a pair of mid-18th century houses, originally built as a single dwelling, located on Brown Street. The houses are constructed of red brick with a painted moulded stone eaves cornice and bracketed details. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with old tile, and features three hipped dormers with tile-hung cheeks. The windows are 19th-century casements; the first floor has four windows, and the ground floor has two. These are flush architrave framed sash windows with thick glazing bars, block sills, and flat brick arches. The front doors are at either end of the building and consist of four panels with decreased panelled reveals, pilasters to the front, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice. Numbers 82 to 102 (even) form a group.
