Description
A row of houses dating from around 1820 to 1830, situated on North Marine Road. The buildings are red brick with a first-floor sill course, and are three storeys high with an attic and basement. They have low-pitched slate roofs, an eaves band, and later dormers. Each house originally had two windows, with the exception of numbers 111 and 115 which have four. The windows are recessed sash windows; some retain glazing bars, and they are all set within flat stucco arches. Canted bay windows with wooden pilasters are located on the ground floors of numbers 107 and 115. The front doors are panelled, though some have been modernised. Houses 105 and 107 have Greek Doric doorcases, while numbers 111 to 115 feature panelled pilasters flanking the doors, topped with console brackets and cornices. Steps lead up to the front doors. Numbers 31 to 115 (odd), together with Gibson’s Hotel, are designated as a group of buildings of group value.
