REGENT ROAD (North east side) No 80, Regent House Former Fielding Johnson Hospital
(Formerly listed as Fielding Johnson Hospital, REGENT ROAD)
II Early C19. Large stuccoed building. Three storeys and basement. Central advanced block of five windows with flanking five window blocks connected by recessed two windows.
The right hand wing is mid or later C19. Centre ground floor rusticated, large central porch on square columns and Ionic columns in antis supporting entablature with heavy cornice. First and second floor giant Corinthian pilasters between windows supporting entablature with heavy crowning cornice with modillions and dentils, parapet, the first floor windows are in moulded shouldered architraves.
Left hand block ground floor rusticated, first and second floors moulded architraves, centre first floor with cornice on console brackets, parapet and cornice similar to centre block, left hand return elevation seven windows, two blind. Later right hand block painted brick, chamfered quoins, dentilled cornice, parapet, architraves with small cornices. The connecting two window bays have iron balconets to first floor windows. Including ornate iron railings to side of porch, stuccoed gate-piers and gate in front and three remaining stuccoed piers to front garden area (the railings are missing).
