Description
Nos 1, 3 and 5 Museum Square, which also includes No 47 New Walk and No 38 Princes Road, is a mid-19th century terrace built in grey gault brick with stuccoed dressings. The building features a slate hipped roof and a modillion eaves cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has eleven windows, with the centre three and the end one projecting slightly, accented by chamfered quoins. The windows are sashes without glazing bars and have stuccoed architraves. The first floor showcases triangular and segmental pediments, while the ground floor has round arch windows and doors with keyblocks. A band runs at the first floor level. The left-hand return to Princes Road has three windows, and the right-hand return to New Walk has four windows. This terrace forms part of a group with other buildings around Museum Square, including Nos 47 and 58 to 64 (even) New Walk and Nos 59 to 61 (odd) Princess Road West, as well as No 1 West Street.
