Description
23, 25, and 25a New Walk are a pair of two-storey houses built in the early 19th century, featuring a stucco exterior and a deeply recessed one-window centre. Number 23 has two windows, each with moulded stucco architraves, while the architraves on number 25 have been removed. All windows are sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor includes two small three-light segmental bays topped with a heavy entablature. The houses have rusticated quoins and a wide eaves cornice supported by moulded modillions in stucco. They are topped with low-pitched hipped slate roofs, and the doors are located at the sides, making them invisible from the front. Numbers 7 to 29 (odd) and number 37 (Provincial House) are part of the same group.
