Description

This is a mile-post located approximately 50 metres south of the school in Carlton Miniott. It dates from the late 19th century and is made of cast iron. The mile-post features a triangular section pillar topped with a semicircular cap. On the top, it is inscribed with 'North Riding of Yorkshire'. The left side of the pillar indicates 'Ripon 9 miles', while the right side shows 'Thirsk 2 miles'.
