Description

This is a milepost located near the junction with Moor Lane on Harrogate Road in Bishop Monkton. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. The milepost has a triangular shape and stands approximately 75 centimetres high, without any stone support. The inscriptions on the milepost include 'Leeds 23' on the top panel, 'Harrogate 8' on the left side with a pointing hand, and 'Ripon 3' on the right side, also with a pointing hand.
