Description

This is a mid-19th century milepost made of cast iron. It has a triangular section with a sloping head and stands approximately 60 centimetres high. The inscriptions on the milepost include "LEEDS 17" on the head, "HARROGATE 2" on the left face with a hand pointing to the right, and "RIPON 9" on the right face with a hand pointing to the left.
