Description

Kennel Hall Farmhouse is a house that likely dates from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared pink and grey gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two stories high and has a three-bay main range, with a lower two-story bay to the left.

The farmhouse has a plinth and quoins. The main range includes an inserted board door to the left of center, which has a three-pane overlight above it, and a blocked doorway on the far left. Throughout the building, there are recessed chamfered mullioned windows, with wooden mullions. The ground floor has two- and three-light windows, while the first floor features four, three, and three-light windows. A string course runs along the first-floor level, and there is a moulded eaves cornice, shaped kneelers, and gable copings. The external stack is located to the left, positioned forward of the ridge, and there is another stack on the right, along with a large three-flue stack on the rear wall, right of center.

On the right return, there is a five-light recessed chamfered mullion window on the first floor, and the eaves cornice continues as a hoodmoulding over two pairs of round-headed lights. The two-story bay to the left has 20th-century three-light mullion windows, along with a shaped kneeler, gable coping, and an end stack to the left. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
