Description

This is a milepost located approximately 200 metres west of the junction with Moor Lane, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands about 80 centimetres high. The milepost has a triangular shape with a sloping top and a hollow back. The inscriptions on the top face read 'SKIPTON 22', while the left face indicates 'PATELEY 7' with a pointing hand, and the right face shows 'RIPON 4', also with a pointing hand.
