Description
The Hollies is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a pantile roof, with two courses of stone slates at the eaves. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, following a central lobby-entry plan. The entrance includes a six-panel door with an overlight that has glazing bars, all framed by a reeded architrave with corner paterae and a cornice. The windows are all sashes with glazing bars and have stone sills. A large stepped and dentilled eaves band is present, along with brick coping. There are two stacks: one at the right end and one on the ridge. The left side of the building features sashes on both the ground and first floors, as well as a 12-pane side-sliding sash in the attic. A later cottage has been incorporated as a rear wing.
