Description
HENDERSKELFE SOUTH PARTERRE SE 7169 Castle Howard 12/59 Kylix and pedestal approximately 60 metres 25.1.54 north-west of Atlas Fountain (formerly listed under "Castle Howard with Outbuilding to east and garden statues") GV II Kylix and the pedestal on which it stands. Early C19. From designs by C H Tatham. Sandstone. Approximately 3 metres in height. One step to pedestal with moulded base, sunk panels with waterleaf borders and quadripartite acanthus motif to centre. Bead and ovolo frieze with egg-and- dart moulded cornice. Fluted kylix with lipped rim. Included for gr up value. HBMC, Register of Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England, Part 32, North Yorkshire: Castle Howard, Grade I.
