Mill Cottages Mill House Outbuildings Attached To Vivers Mill Vivers Mill

Vivers Mill is an early 19th-century building featuring a main block of four storeys constructed from coursed stone with stone quoins. The mill section on the left has four bays and three windows, all with wood lintels and sliding sashes that include glazing bars. Two bays on the upper floors have been repaired in brick. There are hoist doors with a gabled cover, and another hoist door to the left above a new door with six fielded panels. This section also includes two additional mill doors.

To the left, there is a one-storey extension with a door on the right that has six panels and is located under a lintel, in a section that was undergoing rebuilding at the time of the survey. The mill house, located to the right, is two storeys high and built from coursed stone, topped with a pantile roof and featuring two brick stacks. It has two windows with stone lintels and sliding sashes with glazing bars, as well as similar windows on the ground floor and a six-panel door with two glass panes, accessed by three steps.

The building fronts an archway over the mill stream. At the rear, there are premises being converted, including Mill Stream Cottage, which is two storeys high and made of coursed stone with a pantile roof and two brick stacks. It has four windows with wood lintels, three of which are on the ground floor (two casements and one modern). There is also a modern door with glazing bars. The other cottage wing is also two storeys, featuring three irregular sliding sash windows on the first floor with wood lintels, a wood eaves cornice, and a modern bow window on the ground floor along with two modern doors that have glazing bars. An extension of one storey includes two modern windows. The rear courtyard features one-storey stable ranges and a cobbled yard.
