Description

27 Hungate is an early 19th-century house that stands two storeys tall, constructed from coursed stone and topped with a slate roof. The building features three windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars and have carved lintels above them. On the ground floor, there are two windows and a front door made up of six fielded panels, topped with a rectangular fanlight and a lintel similar to those above the windows. This house is part of a group that includes the Forest Vale Hotel and nearby properties numbered 1 to 7, 9 to 15, 17 to 22, 24 to 26, and 26A, with several of these buildings, specifically Nos 7, 9, 10, 22, and 24, noted for their local interest.
