Description

This is an 18th-century building on the south side of Hungate. It is two storeys high and constructed of coursed rubble. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with pantiles, featuring a kneeler on the right gable end and brick stacks. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top. The front has four windows, which lack glazing bars. The ground floor includes two windows with wooden lintels, one blocked window, and a plain doorway.

The building forms a group with the Forest Vale Hotel and a surrounding wall, along with numbers 1 to 7, 9 to 15, 17 to 22, 24 to 26, 26A and 27 of Hungate, of which numbers 7, 9, 10, 22 and 24 are of local interest.
