Description

HUNGATE 1. 5340 (South Side) Nos 26 and 26A SE 7983 1/251 II GV 2. Mid C19 on C18 building. 2 storeys in stucco with moulded eaves cornice and parapet. 3 windows in moulded surrounds. Moulded string between storeys. Ground floor has vermiculated rusticated quoins. 2 canted bays to ground floor and round-headed doorway with rusticated arch with carved keystone. Panelled door beneath semi-circular fanlight. Side elevation of 2 storeys in coursed stone. 2 windows, 1 with incised keystone and 1 with wood lintel, glazing bars, above 2 windows with incised keystones and door of 6 fielded panels, 3-light rectangular fanlight, incised keystone.

Forest Vale Hotel and Wall form a group with Nos 1 to 7 (consec), 9 to 15 (consec), 17 to 22 (consec), 24 to 26 (consec), No 26A and No 27 of which Nos 7, 9, 10, 22 and 24 are of local interest.
