Description

This is a milestone from the 18th century located approximately 0.1 mile south of the junction with Betteras Hill Road in Hillam, North Yorkshire. It is made of ashlar stone and has a diamond shape with a rounded top. The north side features an incised inscription that reads 'LON / 180 / FER / 3', while the south side has 'YORK / 18 / TAD 9'.
