Description
This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is made of ashlar stone and stands approximately 1 metre high with a pointed head. It is located 0.1 mile north of the junction with Barff Lane on the west side of Doncaster Road in Brayton. The face of the stone is inscribed with the distances to Doncaster (18 miles), Askern (11½ miles), Selby (1½ miles), and York (15 miles).
