Description
No. 136 and the barn to the rear are mid-19th century buildings located on the north side of Gowthorpe. The main structure is built of brown brick and features a pitched slate roof. It has two storeys with paired wooden brackets supporting the eaves cornice. The building has two bays with flush-framed sash windows, although the ground floor window has been modernized. The entrance door has four moulded panels and an oblong fanlight with glazing bars, set within moulded panelled reveals that include a wooden frame with sunk panelled pilasters and a moulded cornice. The barn extension at the rear is likely from the 18th or early 19th century, also constructed of brown brick with a pitched pantile roof, coped gables, and a modillioned brick eaves cornice.
