Description
This pair of lodges, along with the walls and piers, is located at Monk Fryston and dates from the mid to late 18th century, with a 20th-century extension added to the gatehouse on the left, which is not of particular interest. The structures are built from magnesian limestone ashlar, featuring brick stacks and a Welsh slate roof. Originally, both lodges were square in shape, and the piers are also square. The walls are approximately 2 meters long. Each entrance has a 6-panel door with a pointed head set beneath a pointed arch that has a chamfered surround. There are pointed-headed windows on either side of the doors, which are now boarded over. The lodges have hipped roofs with ridge stacks, rusticated gatepiers, and curved quadrant walls.
