Description

This barn, located to the south of Thornship Farmhouse, likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with quoins and features a graduated slate roof that has a corbie-stepped east gable and a stone ridge. The barn is a single tall storey with five bays overall. There is an offset segment-headed cart entrance that does not have doors, and two rows of vent slits are positioned on either side of the entrance. A corrugated iron lean-to shed, situated in the angle between the barn and the adjoining byre, is not of interest.
