Description

A shop and cottage, built in the mid-18th century and later altered, now form two dwellings at 33 and 33A Beast Banks. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble with quoins. No. 33 is symmetrical with three bays, featuring a part-glazed door set within bow windows, all contained within a corniced wooden surround with panelled pilasters. Above the door are two sash windows with glazing bars. No. 33A has two bays. A part-glazed door is set within a segment-headed surround, and there is a sash window on each floor to the right (the first floor window has 20 panes). Both properties have graduated slate roofs and a stone chimney at their east ends. A moulded cast-iron gutter is present on No. 33.
