Description
Nos. 33 and 33A on Lewin Street is a cottage dating from 1640 that has been converted into two shops with living accommodation and has undergone significant alterations. The building features oak small framing, with some plaster panels exposed at the front and left gable end. It has a steep roof, which was likely thatched originally but is now covered with asbestos slates. There are two inserted shop fronts, probably from the early 20th century, along with a small-pane inserted metal casement window on the lower storey to the right, and three horizontal small-pane casements on the upper storey. The building has two brick ridge chimneys. Inside, some chamfered oak beams are visible in no. 33.
