Description

This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is located to the north-east of Intake Side along the B6276 road in Brough. It is made from a single stone with a segmental top and features edge chamfers. The stone is inscribed in sans serif lettering, with the text painted black against a white background. The inscription reads: "BROUGH 1 MILE" with a hand pointing to the right, and "MIDDLETON 13 MILES" with a hand pointing to the left.
