Description
This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is located to the southeast of Sandford Thorn along the old road to the east of Warcop. It is made of a single rough-dressed stone that stands approximately 3 feet high and has a square shape, set diagonally. The north face features inscribed sans-serif lettering on dressed insets, indicating "BROUGH 6 MILES" and "APPLEBY 2 MILES."
