Description

This milestone, dating from the mid-19th century, is made of sandstone and has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The front face is inscribed with the word 'BURROW.' The left side features the inscriptions 'TO HORNBY 5 MILES. LANCASTER 14 MILES.' while the right side displays 'TO KIRKBY LONSDALE 2½ MILES. SEDBERGH 12 MILES.'
