Description

Yew Tree Farmhouse is a house built in 1706 that has been altered over time. It features pebbledashed rubble with a slate roof and has a three-cell plan across two storeys. The left-hand cell is believed to have been converted from a farm building and includes a modern window on the ground floor and a 6-pane sash window on the first floor, both with rendered reveals. The middle cell has two modern ground-floor windows with rendered surrounds and a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window on the first floor. The right-hand cell contains a sashed window with a rendered surround, and further right is another window with a stone surround that has a slight chamfer and a central flat-faced mullion, with a similar window above on the first floor. To the left of the central cell, there is a door under a glazed porch, which has a chamfered surround and a lintel inscribed with 'WBA 1706'. The house has chimneys on the right-hand gable and to the left of the door. Inside, there are some chamfered main ceiling joists, and in the middle room, there is a shouldered stone fireplace, which is currently blocked and has had its cap removed.
