Description

The pair of inscribed stones on Burrow Bridge date from the 18th century and are incorporated into the central pedestrian refuges on both the east and west sides of the bridge, which was rebuilt in 1968. The western stone is inscribed with the names: 'Robt Robinson. Robt Bindloss. Robt Crakell. Robt Thornburrow. Jno Thornburrow. Built AD 1733.' The eastern stone bears the inscription: 'Will Withers Clerk. Nichs Fenwick Esq. Mr Tho Nicholson. Supervisors. 1735.'
