Description
This milestone, dating from the mid 19th century, is made of sandstone and has a triangular plan with a sloping top. The top is inscribed with the word 'TUNSTALL'. The left-hand face features the inscriptions: 'TO HORNBY 4 MILES. LANCASTER 13 MILES.' The right-hand face has the inscriptions: 'TO KIRKBY LONSDALE 3½ MILES. SEDBERGH 13 MILES.'
