Description

Coupland Beck Viaduct is a Grade II listed structure made of rock-faced red sandstone, with dressed sandstone on the undersides of the arches, and features iron ties and railings. The viaduct spans a disused single-track railway over Coupland Beck, connecting Appleby-in-Westmorland and Warcop. It consists of five semi-elliptical three-centered arches, each supported by tapered piers that have circular and oval tie-ends. The structure includes end piers and a low stone parapet topped with plain cast iron railings.
