Description
This building is an antique shop located to the north of the Village Hall in Temple Sowerby. It is a cottage that may date back to the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the late 18th or early 19th century. The exterior features lime-washed coursed rubble on a plinth, and while the roof was originally thatched, it has been replaced with corrugated iron. The structure is single storey with an attic and consists of four bays.
The entrance has a panelled door set under a wooden lintel, flanked by two large sash windows with glazing bars in stone surrounds on the left and a single sash window with glazing bars under a wooden lintel on the right. Just below the eaves, there are two small Yorkshire sash windows. Inside, the building has a beamed interior, an original panelled door, and a cast-iron cooking range located at the south end.
