Description

The building is a Post Office located on Hammond Street in Mappowder, dating from the mid-19th century. Originally two cottages, it has been converted into a cottage and shop. The structure features coursed rubble walls and a hipped tiled roof with a central brick chimney. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range. The shop front includes a 20th-century bow window with glazing bars. To the right, there is a three-light casement window with horizontal glazing bars. The central entrance consists of a plain wooden door set in an open gabled porch. Above the door are three two-light casement windows, also with horizontal glazing bars.
