Description

A pair of cottages, built in the mid-19th century and now combined into a single dwelling, stands on the west side of Hammond Street. The construction is of coursed rubble, topped with a hipped roof covered in tiles, and featuring a central brick stack. The two-storey facade has a four-window arrangement. Modern two-light metal casement windows, featuring horizontal glazing bars, fill the window openings. A flush-panel door with glazing is centrally positioned. The cottages are part of a group of similar estate cottages. They are documented in "RCHM, Dorset, vol III," on page 148.
