Description
The King's Arms Hotel is a former inn and attached house dating from the 18th century, with later additions and alterations. The original inn, located to the east, is constructed of ashlar stone and features a chamfered plinth and rusticated quoins. It has a lintel band above the ground floor windows. The roof is made of graduated slate and includes stone coping, a kneeler, and a chimney at the east end, along with a stone mid chimney. The building stands two storeys high and has five bays.
To the left of the centre, there is an original door with a pedimented architrave, while a similar doorcase to the right of centre has been moved to the house and replaced by a window in the 20th century. The remaining door is flanked by a single sash window on either side, and there are two additional sash windows above, all featuring glazing bars except for the left ground floor window. On the right side, there are paired sash windows with glazing bars on each floor.
To the west, there is a two-storey, three-bay house with an incised stucco front. The graduated slate roof was raised in the 20th century, and two gabled dormers were added, along with stone end chimneys. The central door was replaced by a window when the current door was created, and the former inn doorcase has been repurposed as a shallow porch. The house retains two original sash windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor, all with glazing bars.
