Description
The potting shed, with attached stores and gates, is located at right angles and is situated at the north-east corner, immediately south-west of Levens Hall. It likely dates from the early 19th century. The structure features stone rubble walls and roughly-squared weathered limestone piers for the stores, topped with a graduated greenslate roof and a stone ridge. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey. It includes two windows with fixed glazing bars and a glazed door. Inside, there is a two-bay roof supported by a simple truss with a ridge piece, two levels of purlins, and curved wind braces, along with a flagged floor. The potting shed is listed for its group value.
