Description
The Bothy and Potting Shed, located to the west of Bryans Building, is a single-storey outbuilding dating from the 19th century. It is oriented on an east-west axis and features a brick exterior with a slated lean-to roof. The building has two centrally placed brick stacks, one of which likely heated a vinery that has since been demolished on the south side.
On the north elevation, there are six two-light Yorkshire sliding sash windows and three doorways with boarded doors. The doorway at the west end leads to the bothy, the east end doorway accesses the potting shed, and the central doorway provides entry to the boiler room. A cast iron water pump is situated in front of the boiler room.
Inside the bothy at the west end, there is a simple 19th-century fireplace with cupboards on either side that have plain planked doors. The potting shed, which was formerly the easternmost room, retains benches with cupboards above.
