Description

The gatepiers at Levens, likely built in the early 19th century, are made of stone. They feature rusticated sandstone piers that are square in shape, with moulded plinths and heavily overhanging corniced tops. Each pier is topped with limestone pine cones set in acanthus cups. The gatepiers are flanked by curving rubble walls.
